Troubleshoot a voice sequence
Start with the affected draft or run. Preview describes a simulated path; a real run retains the definition and input accepted for that call.
Sequences or editing controls are missing
Confirm the selected workspace and ask its administrator to check Voice management access. Reading sequences requires read access; editing and publishing require write access. Placing a call also requires Voice calling write access.
Preview stops before the expected ending
- Inspect the stopping step and its prepared input.
- Supply a sample outcome for media, keypad input, Dial, Pause, or a managed transfer.
- Remove or repair samples referring to deleted steps or changed outputs.
- If an expression uses call observations, supply the execution sample described in the data guide.
- Run preview again after changing the definition or samples.
An incomplete preview needs more information. A configured failed ending can be a valid result of testing silence or another failure path.
Publication is blocked
- Finish open edits and save the draft.
- Open Checks and repair missing fields, invalid references, unreachable steps, or ordinary connection cycles.
- Check that referenced audio still exists and is usable in the workspace.
- Preserve entries selected by bound numbers, including their ability to accept empty incoming data.
- If another editor saved a newer revision, compare changes before retrying.
Use Transfer to repeat a menu. A normal connection back to an earlier step creates a cycle.
An outgoing call is rejected
Check both Voice management and calling write permissions. Confirm From is owned or verified for the workspace and the destination country is enabled. Supply an explicit entry-data object matching the selected schema.
Production calls need an enabled, unarchived sequence with an active publication. Draft tests use the saved revision; save again if that revision changed. Follow Create Call troubleshooting for API errors.
Incoming calls use the wrong flow
- Open the number's Inbound routing and check its sequence and call entry.
- Confirm the sequence is enabled and unarchived.
- Check whether the caller is listed under Draft testers.
- Save draft changes before testing and remember that publication clears the tester list.
Other callers use the active version. Incoming routes supply empty entry data. A paused sequence does not accept incoming draft tests.
Keypad input takes the wrong path
Compare the complete collected digits with the configured match. Check maximum digits, finish key, and input timeouts. Put interruptible menu speech inside Gather's prompts. Test a keypress during speech as well as after it.
If a later expression cannot read the digits, check whether the Gather is private or whether a transfer started a new entry scope.
A call is accepted but does not connect
Acceptance reserves the call and run; it does not confirm dialing or an answer. Inspect the sequence run first, then any available call or leg record. A call that fails before registration may have no readable call record.
For a failed Dial inside the sequence, inspect the selected output and whether recovery could safely continue. A busy or no-answer path needs its own continuation.
Cancellation or metrics remain pending
A cancellation request remains pending until call cleanup is confirmed. Inspect the final run status; a completed call or failed cleanup can produce a different terminal result.
For reporting differences, compare timezones, admission periods, modes, and publication filters. Statistics can lag interactive history, and unavailable coverage is not zero activity. Expired run detail cannot be restored from metrics.
Deletion is blocked
Remove or replace number routes bound to the sequence, including routes on disabled numbers. Retry after the bindings have been saved. Archive the sequence when you need reversible retirement without removing its history.
