RCS implementation guides

Use RCS for branded conversations, images, rich cards, carousels and customer actions inside the messaging app. Build the experience around one task, such as viewing an order or choosing an appointment.

Start with a working message

Send your first RCS message takes you through agent setup, a rich-card send in Node.js, Python or cURL, and delivery and interaction reads. Begin with a test recipient before expanding to a customer segment.

Build the customer journey

A rich card combines the information needed for a decision with a useful next action. A carousel is useful when the customer must compare a small set of choices. Use rich-message guidance to connect each action to a real destination.
Decide how to handle a recipient who cannot receive RCS before launching. Capability and fallback configures a Bird Navigator to try RCS before SMS, with content for each route and an observable attempt history.

Follow delivery and responses

Read the message status for delivery and the interaction records for reads and clicks. Use the reply handler to record one application task for a selected postback. Test the destination separately from the channel. Troubleshooting follows these checks in order.

Move an existing integration

The migration guides cover sender setup, template mapping, response handling and a controlled cutover. Keep your current sender working until the Bird test completes.
