Launch with a customer task your team can finish. A working message exchange is one part of readiness; the customer also needs an accurate result and a person who can continue when the task stalls.
This guide uses a fictional Fieldnotes studio visit. The customer chooses a location and appointment, receives a confirmed booking, and can ask for help. Use the completed design record to coordinate your business account owner, service team and booking integration.
Define the first complete journey
Write the result before choosing native message features: “The customer books a studio visit at the selected location and receives the confirmed time and reference.” Keep browsing, choosing and booking as separate stages.
Scroll horizontally to see more columns.
| Stage | Customer action | Evidence of completion |
|---|---|---|
| Entry | Open the studio's Messages destination | The intended business identity and welcome appear |
| Choice | Select a location and a time | The reply matches a current option for that location |
| Booking | Confirm the visit | The booking system returns the appointment reference |
| Help | Ask a person to continue | The assigned team receives the request and relevant context |
Decide which information the studio needs to identify the request. Follow the authentication guide if the task requires account access. A conversation with the business does not by itself authorize changes to an account.
Prepare registration and the service operation
Confirm the provider connection and access with Bird. Assign an authorized owner for Apple Business Register, and prepare the business identity, assets, privacy information and support hours. Follow the registration procedure for the current submission and review steps.
Registration and Experience Review are separate milestones. Record the actual status before promising a launch date. Creating a workspace or completing a test exchange does not establish approval.
Name the team that answers escalations. If the studio closes each evening, show its actual response expectations and test the continuation message outside those hours. An automation that offers a person must have a staffed destination or a clear delayed-response path.
Connect the entry point to the right task
Choose a relevant customer entry point using the entry-point guide. For the studio example, place it beside the visit information and introduce the appointment task in the welcome.
Test the public destination against the intended business, location and service team. Keep any entry context within the documented mechanism. If context is missing, ask the customer which location they need rather than assuming the last location another customer selected.
Complete the booking in the booking system
Use the appointment procedure to connect supported time-picker content to real availability:
- Retrieve slots for the chosen service, location and time zone.
- Present understandable dates and keep each option tied to its booking reference.
- On selection, recheck availability and the customer's eligibility for the action.
- Create the appointment through the booking integration.
- Send the confirmed time, location and reference after that operation succeeds.
For this example, the customer selects Tuesday at 14:00 in the studio's local time. If the slot is still available, the booking system records appointment FN-1042. That record supports the confirmation. A picker reply records the customer's choice and does not reserve the slot.
If you include a Wallet pass, issue it from the confirmed appointment. Keep pass changes connected to the booking when the customer reschedules.
Prove recovery and human handoff
Test a materially different outcome before opening the journey to customers:
Scroll horizontally to see more columns.
| Case | Continue the task | Evidence to retain |
|---|---|---|
| Another customer takes the slot | Retrieve current availability and offer alternatives | The unavailable selection produced no claimed booking |
| The booking response is lost | Inspect the original operation before creating another appointment | The recovered booking reference or an explicitly unresolved result |
| The customer asks for a person | Transfer the goal, chosen location, attempted steps and known booking result | The person can continue without asking the customer to repeat the exchange |
| The customer changes the visit | Update the existing booking and confirm the resulting details | The conversation and any pass reflect the confirmed replacement |
| The request arrives outside staffed hours | Explain when the team can continue | The displayed expectation matches the actual service operation |
A delayed integration response remains uncertain until you reconcile it. If a booking was already confirmed, preserve that result in the handoff; a later unavailable status read should not erase it.
Keep a launch and review record
Complete this record with the team. Use the actual test results rather than checking an item because its feature appears in a demonstration.
