Invite your team
Each teammate signs in with their own account and receives the access assigned to their role. Use this page to choose a role, send an invitation, and manage access.
Pick a role
You invite people to your workspace with a role that sets exactly what they can do. Choose from three roles:
- Admin runs the workspace, including its team and settings.
- Developer builds integrations and manages domains, webhooks, and API keys.
- Analyst has read-only access to the scopes assigned to the role.
Most teammates need only a workspace role. An organization Owner manages billing and members across the organization. The person who creates the account starts as an Owner, and an organization can have multiple Owners. See Users, teams & roles.
Workspace access also controls who can receive test messages from Bird's shared onboarding domain. A teammate who needs test sends during setup must have access to the sending workspace.
Send an invitation
In the dashboard, open Settings > Team. The page lists everyone with workspace access, their role, and pending invitations.

Click Invite members, enter your teammate's email address, and choose their role. What happens next depends on whether they already use Bird:
- New to Bird: they receive an invitation email with a signup link. Once they create their account, they land directly in your workspace with the role you chose. The link is valid for 7 days; after that the invitation expires and you'll need to send a new one from the same screen.
- Already in your organization: they're added to the workspace immediately with the chosen role. No email, no waiting.
You can withdraw a pending invitation at any time from the Team screen, and inviting the same address twice won't create a duplicate: you'll be pointed at the invitation that's already pending.
Accepting an invitation
Bird sends the invitation by email. Follow its link, then create an account or sign in. The workspace appears in your dashboard with the role the inviter chose. If the link has expired, ask the inviter to send a new invitation.
Changing roles and removing people
A workspace admin or owner can change another member's role or remove them from Settings > Team. Members cannot change their own access, and an organization must retain at least one owner.
For the full picture of what each role can and can't do, see Users, teams & roles.
