Tapping a slot in Messages returns the customer’s selection to Bird, which is a request rather than a locked reservation. Check your calendar system to verify the time is still open, reserve it with duplicate protection, and offer fresh times right in the thread if another customer claimed the slot first.
Once your booking engine records the reservation, send a confirmation message with the date, local time, address, booking reference, and instructions for rescheduling or canceling. If a webhook repeats or arrives late, reconcile against the existing reservation ID so retries do not create double bookings.
