Apple Messages for Business

Which providers support Apple Messages for Business?

This question has a precise answer and an imprecise one, and it is worth knowing which you are being given.

The precise answer lives inside Apple Business Register. Apple's registration step for a business is to "Select your MSP from the 'Apple Authorized Commercial Messaging Platform' dropdown", and that dropdown is the roster Apple maintains.

Apple's FAQ does point somewhere public: "You can find a list of accepted providers on the Apple Messages for Business page, towards the bottom." That page carries no roster today, so the sentence appears to have outlived the list it describes. Either way the dropdown inside the register is the list you can actually read.

So every list of Apple Messages for Business providers on the open web, this one included, is assembled from what vendors publish about themselves. That is useful for building a shortlist and useless as proof.

Which providers say they support the channel?

Named here because each of these companies documents the channel on its own pages, which is the only sourcing a page like this can honestly offer:

  • Infobip states its status directly: "Apple has to authorize official Messaging Service Providers, and earning that status takes over a year. We have it so your launch doesn't have to wait." Their page also describes managing "Apple's two-stage review" on a brand's behalf. (Infobip's Apple Messages for Business page)
  • Salesforce announced the channel inside Service Cloud on its own newsroom in December 2023: "Apple Messages for Business in Service Cloud allows customers to get AI-assisted support, schedule appointments, complete purchases, and more." Their current Service Cloud setup articles are served as a JavaScript application, so nothing on them can be quoted from the page's own bytes, which makes a dated announcement the strongest citation available here. (Salesforce newsroom)
  • Zendesk states it in its help centre: "As a Messaging Service Provider, Zendesk is certified by Apple to provide services and solutions for your Apple Messages for Business needs", and its setup article routes the resulting Messages for Business ID into Sunshine Conversations. Their marketing page for the channel geo-redirects, so the help centre is the stabler citation. (Adding and configuring the Apple Messages for Business channel)
  • LivePerson publishes a product page for the channel and developer documentation for its Apple Messages for Business message templates.

Bird's own position on the channel is on the Apple Messages for Business page.

That list is not a ranking and it is not complete. Providers enter and leave this market, and a page that tried to hold the whole roster current would be wrong within a quarter. Use it as a starting shortlist, then verify.

How do I verify that a provider is approved?

Three checks, cheapest first.

Look in the dropdown yourself. With administrator access to Apple Business Register you can begin registration and read the "Apple Authorized Commercial Messaging Platform" list before committing to anything. This is the only check that reflects Apple's own state. Note that the same step offers a second route, to "Select 'Advanced' if your MSP instructed you to use a custom configuration", so absence from the dropdown is not by itself a verdict.

Ask the provider for their MSP identity and a test connection. Apple's registration flow has the business add test Apple Accounts and then verify the provider's connection, with Apple's instruction being to wait until "your MSP confirms the connection is successful". A provider who can walk you through that flow on a test account has the integration Apple registered. A provider who cannot has something to explain.

Ask which of Apple's required features they demonstrate. Apple requires an MSP to build "a demo that shows an example customer journey" across the channel's features, and publishes what a provider platform must include, down to intent-based routing and a customizable agent console. Asking a provider to walk that list is a fast way to tell a full integration from a partial one.

Why might an approved provider be missing from the list?

Because Apple's account types allow it. Apple describes three: Private, "Intended for development, testing, staging, and integration work endpoints"; Commercial Public, which "Indicates an MSP endpoint for paid commercial use as a service offering of the MSP"; and Commercial Non-Public, which "is intended as a commercial messaging service, but doesn't appear in the drop-down list of services."

So a provider running a Non-Public commercial endpoint is a genuine commercial provider whose endpoint is not in the picker by design. If a provider you are evaluating is absent, ask which account type their endpoint is registered under and how a brand connects to it. Treat a vague answer as the finding.

What should this change about a shortlist?

Reverse the usual order. On most channels you shortlist on price and features, then check credentials. Here the credential is binary and Apple holds it, so confirm it first and spend the rest of the evaluation on the things Apple does not decide: the console, the automation, the back-end integration, and who takes you through review. What a Messaging Service Provider is, and how to choose one works through those.

Apple's requirements on this page come from Apple's own documentation, read on 4 September 2026: Register your account, MSP registration, MSP onboarding and Messages for Business accounts. Each provider claim is sourced to that provider's own page, read the same day.
