Invite opted-in customers to continue in Apple Messages.
When a customer is on a support call or web chat and asks to move the conversation to their iPhone, send an approved Apple Messages for Business invitation to their opted-in phone number. Bird tracks invitation delivery, customer acceptance, and fallback routing so your team picks up the thread with the request context intact.

Opt-in outbound invitations for active service requests
Shift phone calls and web tickets into Messages with customer consent.
Ordinary Apple Messages replies address an existing thread’s anonymous Apple user ID, which means you cannot cold-message a phone number. When a customer explicitly asks during a call, checkout, or support session to continue in Messages, Apple’s approved invitation path lets you reach their phone number with a managed template.
Bird links the invitation to the support ticket or order your team is already working on. If the customer accepts, the opened thread carries that context straight into Bird Conversations; if they decline or use a device that cannot receive the prompt, your workflow can follow up on the original channel.

Treat outbound invitations as a permissioned handoff for a specific customer task, with clear tracking at each stage.
Record explicit opt-in for the specific task
Explain which business will message the customer, what service request the thread will cover, and that an invitation will arrive in Apple Messages. Store the customer’s consent alongside the phone number and case reference before triggering the send.
Send the Apple-approved invitation template
Submit your invitation use case and message template for Apple’s separate invitation approval, then address the request to the customer’s opted-in phone number. Bird handles the provider submission and attaches your idempotency key so retries do not send duplicate prompts.
Track gateway acceptance and customer response separately
Gateway acceptance confirms that Apple received the invitation request, while a conversation opens when the customer accepts and replies. Once they respond, Bird switches the thread to the conversation’s opaque Apple identifier and attaches your case context.
Fall back cleanly when a customer declines or cannot open it
If the recipient declines the invitation, uses a non-Apple handset, or does not respond in time, keep their service request moving on phone, SMS, or email without sending repeated unsolicited prompts.
Keep outbound invitations compliant with Apple’s policies.
Match the prompt to the conversation the customer just had
Display the exact brand name and service reason the customer agreed to, such as continuing an open repair claim or rescheduling a delivery. When the thread opens in Bird Conversations, operators see the linked ticket and prior notes right away.
Use invitations for requested service rather than bulk marketing
Apple prohibits unsolicited broadcasts and promotional blasts on the invitation path. Keep opt-in timestamps, approved template references, and decline signals attached to the customer record so your team can audit consent and honor channel preferences.
