WhatsApp business verification
Business verification is Meta's check of your business identity. It happens in Meta Business Suite on the business portfolio that owns your WhatsApp Business Account. Meta makes the decision; Bird cannot approve the review or promise its completion time.
This is separate from verifying control of a phone number. A received phone code proves control of that number for setup. It does not verify the business portfolio.
What verification affects
With Bird-managed numbers, Bird manages the portfolio. When you connect an account of your own, its verification state and the capabilities Meta permits become part of your setup:
- Messaging allowance: verification can be one of Meta's scaling requirements. Check the portfolio's current allowance and eligible path in WhatsApp Manager. A completed review does not guarantee an immediate increase.
- Template capacity: Meta sets account limits and any conditions involving verification or display-name approval. Confirm the current allowance before planning a large template catalog.
- Authentication templates: Bird refuses authentication-template authoring when Meta reports the account as not_verified. Creating or copying a draft is not proof that Meta will approve it or permit a send. Complete the verification steps required for your account and check the resulting template-language status.
Marketing and utility templates follow their own category, content, account, and recipient rules. See Template guidelines and Number quality and messaging limit.
Prepare and submit
- Open Meta Business Suite and select the portfolio that owns your WhatsApp Business Account.
- Open the business settings and follow the verification steps available for that portfolio.
- Supply the requested business details and evidence. Use consistent legal name, address, contact details, and website information across the submission and supporting documents.
- Complete the verification method Meta offers for your account, then follow its review status and notifications.
Requirements and available verification methods can differ. Follow the current instructions shown by Meta for your portfolio.
If verification is refused
Read the reason before resubmitting. Check for mismatched business names or addresses, unreadable or unsuitable documents, contact details that cannot be confirmed, and a website that does not clearly identify the business. Provide the correction Meta requests; repeated unchanged submissions do not resolve a missing requirement.
After approval, check the updated business-account state, messaging allowance, and template capacity. A completed identity review and permission to use a specific WhatsApp capability are separate decisions.
