Choose and create native Apple Messages

A native message gives the customer a structured action inside Messages. Start with the action they need, then create a template for that interaction.

Create quick replies

Use quick replies for a short choice, such as Arrange a visit or Ask about an order.

  1. In Templates, select New template > Quick replies.
  2. In Content, enter the title and question. Under Choices, enter between two and five short options. Use Add option or remove a row to adjust the set.
  3. Open Apple delivery to review the native message. The customer's response returns a choice identifier with its label.
  4. Select the business in Personalization, save the template, and follow prepare, review, and send.

Keep the choice labels distinct. If your integration acts on a response, retain the identifiers from the sent content rather than deciding by the translated label alone.

Build a list picker

Use quick replies for five or fewer choices. Use a list for a longer selection that needs grouping, subtitles, or multiple selection.

  1. Create a List picker template. Enter its title, question, and initial Choices in Content.
  2. Open Apple delivery and select Organize list sections.
  3. Enter a Section title, such as Visit type. Set Selection to Choose one or Choose multiple for that section.
  4. Give each row a stable Choice identifier, a customer-facing Choice title, and an optional Subtitle. For example, use styling for Styling appointment and collection for Collect an order.
  5. Use Add choice and Add section as needed. Set Section order and Choice order when explicit ordering matters.

Structured sections in Apple delivery replace the simple Content choices for real sends. After organizing sections, make subsequent row edits there. Otherwise the concept labels and the sent list can differ.

For row images, add a named image under PNG images, then use its identifier in the row's Image identifier. Follow the media requirements.

Explain the message and reply bubbles

Under Native bubble presentation, Received message bubble is the invitation the customer sees before opening the interaction. Reply bubble is the presentation associated with their response. Use Customize bubble to edit the title, subtitle, and supported image fields.

Keep the initial title actionable, such as Choose your visit. The reply should acknowledge the choice without promising an external action, such as Visit type selected. A list selection does not create a booking or reserve inventory.

Verify a customer response

Send to an authorized test conversation and complete the interaction on the Apple device. In Conversations, compare the returned selection with the sent options. For multiple selection, check that the complete set reaches the system that processes the answer.

Test long labels and your supported languages. Provide a text or web alternative when a customer cannot use the interaction. Device capabilities can identify a known limitation; missing capability information leaves support unknown.

For rejected content, return to Apple delivery and resolve the preparation error. For a failure after submission, inspect Messages and events.
