What Infobip does well,
and where Bird is different.
Worin Infobip stark ist
Gehostete Agentenwerkzeuge.
First-party TypeScript SDK. Bird ships and maintains a typed TypeScript SDK generated from the API contract, whereas Infobip’s official SDK list covers Java, C#, PHP, Go, and Python alongside a separate community Node package.
Safe retries prevent duplicate texts. Include an idempotency key on send requests so retrying a timed-out call within three hours returns the original response instead of texting the customer twice.
Declare message intent on the send call. Free-text sends specify whether a message is transactional, marketing, authentication, or service traffic directly on the request, whereas Infobip’s delivery options have no traffic category field.
Die Matrix
Funktion für Funktion.
Both platforms offer hosted MCP servers, programmatic 10DLC registration, and delivery webhooks. Infobip provides official Java and C# SDKs and per-message callback settings, while Bird offers a flat single-message request, idempotent retries, and a first-party TypeScript SDK.
| Funktion | Bird | Infobip |
|---|---|---|
| Sendeanfrage | BirdSend a flat JSON request to the SMS messages endpoint on your regional host using a bearer API key. | InfobipSend a bulk-structured JSON payload to a versioned messages endpoint using an App key, wrapping even a single text inside a messages array, a destinations array, and a nested content object. |
| Sichere Wiederholungen | BirdPass an idempotency key on the send call to replay the original outcome if you retry within three hours. | InfobipInfobip’s SMS v3 send request has no idempotency parameter, so your application must check message status before retrying a timed-out send. |
| Nachrichtenzweck | BirdFree-text sends declare a traffic category (transactional, marketing, authentication, or service) on the request. | InfobipMessage options cover validity windows, scheduling, flash SMS, and regional compliance fields without declaring a traffic category; the campaign reference field tracks reporting rather than message intent. |
| Gehosteter MCP-Server | BirdConnect Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT, or your own runtime to one hosted MCP server to operate your workspace. | InfobipConnect to product-scoped hosted MCP servers using API-key or OAuth authentication, adding each product server your workflow requires. |
| A2P 10DLC-Registrierung | BirdRegister US 10DLC brands and campaigns programmatically through the same regional API host. | InfobipMarken und Kampagnen werden über die Nummernregistrierungs-API oder ein geführtes Portal registriert, mit einer Compliance-Prüfung vor der Einreichung bei The Campaign Registry. |
| Ein Host für den gesamten Kanal | BirdSending, 10DLC registration, and delivery webhooks share one regional base URL and one bearer API key. | InfobipAn account-specific base URL serves both SMS sending and number registration under a single host. |
| Zustellereignisse | BirdSubscribe a workspace webhook to sent, delivered, and failed SMS events delivered as JSON payloads signed with Standard Webhooks. | InfobipJede Nachricht benennt ihren eigenen Webhook, wählt JSON oder XML und kann bis zu 4000 Zeichen Callback-Daten anhängen, die im Bericht zurückkommen. Berichte können auch abgerufen werden. |
| SDK-Sprachen | BirdSMS-SDKs für TypeScript, Python, Go und PHP. Verwenden Sie aus anderen Sprachen die HTTP-API. | InfobipDer SDK-Katalog führt API-Clients für Java, C#, PHP, Go und Python auf. Infobip bietet außerdem Node-Beispiele und ein Community-Node-SDK. |

Infobip’s example calls its SMS v3 endpoint directly over HTTP with nested message, destination, and content objects. Bird’s example uses the official TypeScript SDK with flat sender, recipient, and text fields plus a traffic category.

Wechselkosten
Planen Sie die Umstellung.
For single-recipient sends, flatten Infobip’s nested message array into Bird’s sender, recipient, and text fields. If you send multi-recipient payloads through Infobip, map them to Bird’s batch endpoint (up to 100 independent messages per request) or to Bird’s campaign tools, and move per-message callback URLs and custom callback data to workspace webhooks and request metadata.
Run sender registration and phone number porting in parallel with your code changes. Confirm transfer requirements with Bird, import your existing opt-out list so unsubscribed recipients stay suppressed, and verify live delivery receipts on a test number before shifting production traffic.
