Verify itself is free. You pay for the send.
There's no plan, seat, or platform fee for Bird Verify. A verification bills per code sent, at the rate of whatever channel carried it, email, SMS, or WhatsApp, and checking that code costs nothing.
No line item for Verify.
The Bird Verify API sends a code and checks it back; the code arrives over a channel you already pay for. Verify adds create, check, per-country routing, and code security on top, at no extra cost.
How a verification actually bills.
Four rules, straight from the billing docs.

Billed per send, not per verification.
Each delivery is charged at that channel's rate for the destination. A resend, or a fallback that moves delivery to a second channel, is a new send and a new charge.

Checking a code is free.
Submitting a code for verification never bills. Only the send that delivered the code does.

Free routes cost nothing.
Where a destination has a free sending route, a send over it isn't charged either.

Rejected before billing, never charged.
A send that's rejected before it goes out doesn't reach your wallet. You're billed for delivery attempts, not for requests.
What you're actually paying for
Verify has no rate card of its own. Your cost is whatever the delivering channel charges.
