Quiet hours allow you to specify time periods when your messages won't be sent to customers, ensuring you respect their time and preferences. This feature helps maintain a positive customer experience by preventing messages from being delivered during inconvenient hours.
Note that Quiet hours will still be enforced in some countries regardless of your selection, to ensure you’re always complying with local laws and regulations.

Step-by-step gude
Quiet hours prevent messages from being sent during specific time periods, ensuring you respect your customers' time preferences. Here's how to set up this feature in Bird.
Step 1: Access quiet hours settings
- In the main menu, open Developer product
- In the menu, navigate to Channels
- Expand SMS section
- Click on SMS settings
- Navigate to the Sender preferences tab
Step 2: Optional: Check enforced, country-specific quiet hours
- In the Timezone section, click on the Timezone list
- This will help you understand how quiet hours work for recipients based on the country or area code of their phone number
Step 3: Optional: Enable or disable quiet hours
- Quiet hours are enabled by default, but you can disable them at any point by clicking on the toggle "Quiet hours will still be enforced in some countries regardless of your selection"
Step 4: Set your quiet hours time frame
Use the time picker drop-down to select precise times. Under "Stop sending," define the start time when quiet hours should begin and you will stop sending messages (Example: 9:00 PM). Under "Resume sending," define the end time when quiet hours should finish and sending messages will resume (Example: 8:00 AM)
Step 5: Determine how quiet hours will be applied
- Open Advanced Settings
- You can choose between two options: Use the assigned country time zone, or (Recommended) Use phone number area codes. Note that this only works for profiles in the United States, Canada, Indonesia, Portugal, Spain, Mexico, Russia, and Brazil
Step 6: Limit sending to specific days of the week
- Under Advanced settings, toggle on "Limit sending to specific days of the week"
- Choose specific days of the week you want to limit sending on
Step 7: Save and test your settings
- Click "Save" to apply your quiet hours configuration
- Send a test message during quiet hours to verify your settings are working
- Check that messages are being handled according to your preferences
