Which countries require a sender to be registered?

97 of the 245 countries Bird reaches by SMS require at least one sender type to be registered before traffic delivers. Each group is one combination of senders, with what registering them involves.

Alphanumeric sender ID (77)

You file the sender text for the country through Bird. Where the country reviews it the registration stays pending until the regulator answers; where it reviews nothing, it is approved on the call.

Short code (8)

A short code is allocated by Bird rather than bought, reaches only numbers inside the country that issued it, and carries no voice.

10DLC long code (3)

A US long code carries application-to-person traffic only under a brand and campaign registered with The Campaign Registry.
