Ready for review

Illustrative campaign. Explore the content and launch review; this preview sends no messages.

One campaign. Every decision in view.

Move from an idea to a reviewed send without losing the connection between the audience, content and result.

Choose the audience

Use shared contact profiles and reusable audiences. Start with the customer relationship, purchase or event that makes this campaign relevant.

Make the message specific

Write one clear offer or update. Personalize with customer properties and a sensible fallback, then review the final text and segment count.

Control the launch

Choose an eligible sender and destination. Review consent, suppressions and timing before scheduling or sending.

From customer context to campaign

Give every send a reason to exist.

A launch, a requested update or an invitation to return. Start with the reason this person should hear from you, then choose the audience and message that fit.

FIELDNOTES

Ada, meet our autumn collection. Explore your favorites: fieldnotes.example/autumn. Reply STOP to opt out.

Review before launch

Rendered message, sender, permission, segments and timing.

Observe after sending

Delivery and replies, plus clicks and purchases connected to your campaign.

Example content and audience logic. Choose the sender, permission language and sending rules for your markets.

Give AI a useful job. Keep the decision yours.

Ask an agent to prepare a relevant audience, suggest message variants or investigate a campaign. Review the content and intended recipients before authorizing a send.

A brief with context

Use the campaign goal, brand voice and available customer properties to create a draft your team can evaluate.

A review you can understand

Check the audience, sender, timing and message together. An agent works within the workspace permissions it is given.

A result you can investigate

Trace delivery outcomes to message events. Use connected click and purchase events to evaluate action, with an explicit attribution window.

Measure delivery. Then measure the action.

A delivery receipt reports the carrier’s outcome. It does not tell you whether a person read the text or bought something.

Delivery

Follow accepted, sent, delivered, rejected and failed messages. Keep pending receipts visible when a campaign is still settling.

Response

Use replies and configured link tracking to understand an observable action. SMS has no native open event.

Conversion

Connect purchase or other outcome events, choose an attribution window and distinguish attributed revenue from incremental lift.

Plan the cost of the send

Know what changes the bill.

A campaign count is only the beginning. Destination rates, rendered message segments, applicable carrier fees and the sender you choose all contribute to the cost. Personalization can change message length across the same audience.

Preview representative messages, review the published rates for your markets and account for number and registration costs when planning the rollout.

Questions about SMS marketing

Is an SMS campaign different from an SMS broadcast?
Campaign describes the marketing job: audience, content, timing and measurement. A broadcast is the sending resource that manages one audience send. The dashboard and Broadcast API are ways to operate that workflow.
Should I use the SMS API or a campaign?
Use individual SMS sends for application-triggered notifications. Use a campaign for a coordinated audience send with shared content, scheduling and progress. A batch of independent SMS requests is a different operation.
Can I use the same contacts for SMS and email?
Yes. A contact can carry phone and email identifiers and shared properties. Channel eligibility, consent and suppressions still determine which messages that person can receive.
Does Bird report SMS open rates?
No. Standard SMS does not report opens. Delivery receipts, replies, configured link clicks and connected conversion events answer different questions and should be reported separately.
Can AI send a campaign for me?
Use an agent to prepare and operate the workflow through Bird’s supported tools and workspace permissions. Review the recipients and message, and authorize the sending action as part of your process.
