Hey, and welcome back to another video. Today we're going to be looking at WhatsApp template management. Now, WhatsApp template management is important because WhatsApp has strict regulations when it comes to messaging your customers. Therefore, they require you to pre-register a template to approve the messages that you want to send to your customers. This enables Meta to have some control over the type of content that goes over their platform, but most importantly, to make sure that we don't go and send anything to everyone and any time.
In the previous video, we've already gone and connected our WhatsApp Business account. We filled out our business profile, and today we're going to be managing our templates. So, we're going to navigate to WhatsApp in our platform, and then we're going to head over to templates. Now, you'll see that there's already some pre-approved templates within the system. These can be used with one of our shared senders within the Bird platform, but for our own new Aviary Shop, we actually want to send some specific content ourselves.
So, for this, we're going to navigate to the new template section. Now, first and foremost, we have the option to start from scratch or to start with an existing template. Now, we're going to go and start from scratch. First thing that we need to decide on is what is the actual type of message that we're going to be sending. Is it going to be marketing, utility, or authentication? Now, as a few ones that we're going to be setting up today, we're going to start with utility because we want to actually give an order confirmation the moment that a order has been placed. So, this will be confirmation.
And be aware that the slug actually can't be changed at a later stage. So, this is also what you're going to be using when you're going to be sending out the templates. Now, we're going to go default language in English, and we're going to create the templates.
Now, within the template manager, there's a few components that we want to start looking at. First, in the top left corner, we see the language. So, we've set our default language already, but we have the option to add additional languages. This will enable you to send messages in a local language depending on where your customers are actually based. Now, then we're going to actually have the message. So, we're going to say Hi. And now we have the option to add variables. Now, variables are placeholders where we can customize a message within a specific template. So, the structure of the template is fixed, but these variables will allow us to actually customize the message to make it feel personal. So, let's say we're going to do variable one, which might be first name.
Uh thanks for your order. ID. Another variable, which would be order ID. received shipment Those are the foundations of my message. Now, we have the option to add additional components. Now, optional elements that we can basically show above or below, so these are headers and footers. Um we're not going to add a header and footer for now. We're not going to add any buttons. This is just an informative message. Now, once we've completed everything that we wanted to do, we can go and submit it for review.
Now, submitting a template for review sends it over to Meta for approval. The approval process is partially automatic. It might be that some templates actually get picked out for manual review, and this is something that we have no control over and it's done weekly by Meta. But, on the bright side, templates should be approved quite quickly. Now, we'll wait for this one to be approved, and then we're going to start building out our other one in the meantime.
All right. So, now we're also going to go and set up a marketing template. So, we're going to new template, start from scratch, and this time it's going to be a marketing one. I immediately see that there's an additional option that we can actually send a a message instead of the default message. So, we're going to do that for this. So, this is a marketing carousel.
Now, for a for carousel, we actually have the option to show additional content that the user can actually swipe to to actually see several of our products. So, the message is actually going to be Hey, first name. name We have dropped additional pages.
And then we have the option to add these cards. Now, cards can be an image or a video. And need to be hosted on a available URL. And then we also have the option to add additional buttons. So, for example, visit the website with the actual link of each button.
Now, because I don't necessarily have these images ready, I'm not going to be able to approve. So, I'm just going to save this as a draft as I get these images ready. But, this will give you a good understanding of what the different options are within the template manager.
Now, at this stage, it's just waiting. Once our template is approved, we can actually start sending. Going to have a different video about sending templates and sending messages at later stage. For now, thanks again for watching. And I want to say as always, happy sending.
