Connect a WhatsApp commerce journey

Link product discovery, checkout and confirmed orders to the customer conversation.

Prerequisites

A connected business sender, current product information and a commerce or payment integration appropriate to the market.

1. Choose a relevant product journey

Define whether the customer is discovering an item, choosing a variant or asking about an order. Use permitted customer context and current stock information to shape the recommendation.

2. Prepare the product experience

Keep the image, name, description and available options consistent with the catalog. Make the next action specific. Use a native choice or focused form when it reduces effort, and keep a conversational route for questions.

3. Connect checkout

Choose the supported native payment or hosted checkout path for the market and provider. Carry the selected item and journey reference into the destination. Do not expose private customer details in a URL merely to retain attribution.

4. Confirm the transaction

Use the payment or order system to verify success, deduplicate events and record the order. Handle declined or abandoned payments without presenting a completed purchase. Communicate refunds and cancellations from the same authoritative records.

5. Continue the service

Send the appropriate eligible order or delivery update. Keep promotional follow-ups distinct from transaction updates in both purpose and template category. Join the confirmed outcome back to the campaign or conversation.

Troubleshooting

A product click shows interest; it does not establish payment. If checkout loses the selected item or customer context, inspect the destination and supported join. When a native option is unavailable, provide an appropriate hosted checkout or service path.
