Automate email sequences around customer events.

Run automated welcome series, onboarding sequences, cart recovery, and event-triggered email workflows without building custom cron jobs or delay queues in your backend. Pause until a customer converts, skip or cancel pending follow-ups when they take action, and check subscription preferences before sending the next step.

Draft and preview your templates
before wiring up the workflow.

Use your AI assistant with Bird MCP or the dashboard to draft and preview welcome, onboarding, and recovery templates against sample customer data. Once the copy looks right, connect those templates to application events, delays, and branching conditions in the visual Automations builder.

Test branches and template variables
before your workflow goes live.

Run your draft workflow against sample event payloads to verify how conditions evaluate and how fields map into your email templates. Preview simulates delays, event waits, and send steps without delivering real messages or consuming your run allowance, so you can catch a missing name or wrong recipient before publishing.

Preview simulates actions, delays, and event waits without sending real emails.

Wait for customers to convert and skip
follow-ups they no longer need.

Start a workflow when a user signs up or abandons a cart, send the initial email, and pause until a matching application event arrives or the timer expires. If the customer activates or completes their order in the meantime, Bird skips or cancels the pending reminder so they do not receive a nudge for something they already finished.

Trace which branch a customer took
across published workflow versions.

When you need to know why a customer received or skipped a follow-up, open the run log to inspect the trigger payload, condition results, and step outputs. Active runs finish on the published workflow version they started with, so you can edit drafts and ship updates without disrupting customers mid-sequence.

Email automation, explained.

Is Email automation available in my workspace?

Automations is currently in Early access, and your workspace permissions determine which triggers and actions you can configure. During early access, your organization includes 1,000 shared runs per UTC calendar month across its workspaces, while draft previews and step retries do not count against your allowance.

Can I test a workflow without sending emails?

Yes. Preview evaluates branching conditions and template variable mappings against sample trigger data, using simulated outcomes for delays, event waits, and send steps without delivering real emails. Live traffic continues running on your published version until you explicitly publish your draft.

Can a workflow send to an entire audience?

Automations run per event or schedule tick rather than looping over an entire audience list at once. Use Broadcasts when you want to send a newsletter or campaign to a full audience segment, and use Automations to trigger one-to-one welcome series, onboarding flows, and follow-ups from individual customer events.

Scale without losing control.

Separate production and sandbox traffic into dedicated workspaces, scope API keys to the exact channels each service or agent needs, and track permission changes in the audit log.
