Every Bird Lookup query on a phone number carries one flat charge. Each enrichment property you ask for is billed on top, but only when it comes back answered. An email lookup bills once per verdict. A lookup that fails costs nothing, and there is no seat fee.

How a lookup actually bills.
Five rules, straight from the billing path.

The base lookup always bills.
A phone number lookup is charged once for the baseline answer, whether or not you asked for a single property on top of it.

A property bills only when it is answered.
Each delivered property is charged on top of the base lookup. One that comes back unavailable or inconclusive is a real finding, and it costs nothing.

An email lookup bills per verdict.
One flat charge per answered address, undeliverable included: that is the answer you asked for, and the one that saves you a bounce.

A failed lookup costs nothing.
A malformed number, an address we refuse, or a data source we cannot reach all bill zero. You pay for answers, not for requests.

A retry replays instead of re-billing.
Send the same request again with the same Idempotency-Key and the stored answer comes back without a second charge.
What Lookup is not sized for.
Lookup answers one number or one address per request. Neither operation has a batch form, and the rate limit starts at 10 requests a minute per credential, so cleaning a whole list is not what this is priced for today. Talk to us if that is what you need.
