A New Number Standard
10DLC (or 10 digit long code) is a local (+1) 10-digit number enabled for A2P (application to person) messaging, which also supports voice calls. End recipients won’t see a difference, but businesses sending messages will enjoy higher security and better deliverability.
Bulk Messaging
Previously, A2P (application to person) bulk sending with a long code via SMS was filtered and blocked by operators in the US. Now, brands can use 10DLC (or 10 digit long code) numbers to make bulk sends of up to 30 messages per second.
Registered Brands and Campaigns
10DLC requires that companies register their brands in order to receive a 10DLC number. It also requires a unique brief for each campaign that’s going to be sent via 10DLC. This increased regulation not only tightens security, but also opens up the speed and reliability of the new standard.
Account Security
Two-factor authentication (2FA) with 10DLC brings even more security through verified brands. Plus, you can use 10DLC to send mass alerts for fraud or other security threats.
Marketing and Engagement
Send marketing and promotional messages to your audience to engage on channels that get more views than email. Or, send polls to get user feedback and insights!
Notifications and Announcements
Send updates to account holders about new account activity or send bulk announcements to rapidly spread awareness of new features.
Special Use Cases
10DLC also supports special use cases like conversational messaging, emergency news, sweepstakes, and even political campaigns. These use cases might require approval depending on the network operator.
