How to set up your AI Employee's personality and settings in Bird

1. Open your AI Employee

  1. Click AI hub in the left menu.

  2. Select AI Employees.

  3. Click on your AI Employee (e.g., Mr. Robin).

  4. Click Open draft.

  5. Click Edit draft to start editing.

2. Personalize the profile

  1. Click Edit profile.

  2. Update the Display name.

  3. Upload or change the Avatar image.

  4. Write an Internal biography (for team reference).

  5. Add an Internal description. (Tip: leave this blank and the AI can't be assigned tasks.)

  6. Click Save draft.

3. Configure AI settings

  1. Go back to Overview.

  2. Click Configure language model.

  3. Choose your provider (e.g., OpenAI).

  4. Click Back.

4. Set the AI’s personality

  1. Click Customize personality.

  2. Edit the Biography and Instructions to guide how your AI replies.

  3. Adjust the Tone of voice using the slider.

  4. Click Save.

5. Add guardrails and rules

  1. Click Guardrails.

  2. Review or add limits (e.g., "Never give discounts").

  3. Click Back.

  4. Click Abandonment logic.

  5. Set when the AI should stop replying (e.g., after 3 hours).

  6. Optional: Set a reminder message to nudge customers.

  7. Click Save.

6. Test your AI Employee

  1. Click Test at the top.

  2. Reset existing conversations.

  3. Type a message to see how your AI replies.

  4. Click the Info icon to inspect response details.

  5. Use the Channel dropdown to test replies on other channels (e.g., WhatsApp, Webchat).

7. Publish your changes

  1. Click Publish draft.

  2. Confirm to make your AI Employee live.
