Before you send a campaign, make sure you’ve completed these setup steps:
Setup Checklist
1. Add Contacts to Bird
You need contacts in Bird before sending a campaign.
Most common method: Install an integration like:
Shopify
WooCommerce
HubSpot
These sync your contacts automatically.
Alternatively: Import contacts manually via CSV.
2. Install a Messaging Channel
Decide which channel to use based on the data you have:
If you have email addresses, start with email.
If you have phone numbers, start with SMS or WhatsApp.
Install one or more channels:
WhatsApp
Email
SMS
Now that you’ve added contacts and installed a channel, you need an audience to target.
Segments: Great if your contacts come from an integration. Filter by behavior or attributes (e.g. “hasn’t purchased in 90 days”).
Lists: Automatically created when you import a CSV.
Tip: For your first campaign, start simple. Then experiment with advanced segments later.
Go to Create content from your dashboard to build your message:
Use the email editor to create beautiful emails.
Use message templates for SMS and WhatsApp.
Once your audience and message are ready:
Go to Campaigns > Create campaign
Select your list or segment
Choose your message content
Click send, and you're done!
