A New Number Standard
10DLC (or 10 digit long code) is a local (+1) 10-digit number enabled for A2P (application to person) messaging, which also supports voice calls. End recipients won’t see a difference, but businesses sending messages will enjoy higher security and better deliverability.
Bulk Messaging
Previously, A2P (application to person) bulk sending with a long code via SMS was filtered and blocked by operators in the US. Now, brands can use 10DLC (or 10 digit long code) numbers to make bulk sends of up to 30 messages per second.
Registered Brands and Campaigns
10DLC requires that companies register their brands in order to receive a 10DLC number. It also requires a unique brief for each campaign that’s going to be sent via 10DLC. This increased regulation not only tightens security, but also opens up the speed and reliability of the new standard.
