Sync contacts and build targeted email audiences.

Sync contacts, typed custom properties, and subscription preferences from your app, CRM, or spreadsheet imports into reusable audiences for email broadcasts and automations. Replace manual CSV exports with batch API upserts, keep audience membership in step with application events, and prevent promotional sends to unsubscribed or bounced addresses through the dashboard, REST API, or Bird MCP.

build world-class software.

Inspect audience members and contact attributes
before launching a campaign.

Check who belongs to an audience and verify which custom properties are populated before you schedule a broadcast. Ask your AI assistant through Bird MCP, query the REST API, or search in the dashboard to inspect live contact profiles and audience memberships without exporting a CSV.

Personalize your campaigns from your contact profiles.

Segment audiences with real-time contact attributes and personalize your messages without maintaining separate lists.

Import spreadsheets or sync contacts
directly from your application.

Upload a CSV or Excel file and map columns to contact fields and typed custom properties with default fallbacks, or upsert contacts in batches from your backend as users sign up and upgrade. Bird matches records by email, phone number, or your own user ID so repeat imports and API syncs update existing profiles in place without creating duplicates.

Sync reusable audiences while respecting
subscription preferences across channels.

Add or remove contacts from audiences as customers sign up, upgrade, or churn without overwriting their subscription status. Bird tracks marketing consent for email, SMS, and WhatsApp separately from audience membership and filters out unsubscribed or suppressed addresses when a broadcast runs.

Contacts & audiences, explained.

Are audiences recalculated when a contact property changes?

No. Audiences use explicit static membership, so updating a contact property does not automatically add or remove the contact from an audience. You can update membership directly from your application via the REST API, CLI, or Bird MCP, sync cohorts from your CRM, or add and remove audience members inside an automation workflow.

Does joining an audience subscribe someone to marketing?

No. Audience membership and marketing consent are tracked separately. Adding a contact to an audience groups them for targeting, while broadcasts still check the recipient’s recorded channel preferences and your workspace suppression list before sending. Contacts who have unsubscribed or previously hard-bounced are skipped automatically when a campaign runs.

Does removing someone from an audience delete the contact?

No. Removing a contact from an audience takes them out of that specific list while leaving their contact profile, custom properties, and other audience memberships intact. Even if you permanently delete a contact record, Bird retains their suppression and opt-out entries so unsubscribed or bounced addresses do not become mailable again.
