Add Bird to ChatGPT and Codex

Install the Bird plugin in ChatGPT or Codex and sign in with your browser to connect Bird's hosted MCP server and agent skills to your workspace. Once authorized, your agent can verify sending domains, send test messages, subscribe to inbound mailbox or SMS events in ChatGPT, and inspect delivery status.

Run messaging and delivery tasks directly from your prompt.

Ask ChatGPT or Codex to audit failed emails, check sender requirements before launching an SMS flow, or inspect live voice calls in your workspace.

Understand a delivery issue
Check my recent email failures. Group them by reason, inspect the affected sending domain, and tell me what needs fixing before making changes.
Prepare a new channel
Help me set up SMS for order updates. Check my workspace and available senders, explain what is missing, then prepare a test for a number I provide.
See what is happening now
List the Voice calls that are active right now. Separate connected calls from calls that are still ringing, and show their IDs.

How ChatGPT and Codex connect to your workspace.

What to expect when authorizing access, subscribing to events, and troubleshooting tool calls.

Does connecting MCP give ChatGPT or Codex unrestricted access?

No. Bird's MCP tools run within the workspace or organization permissions you hold and choose to delegate during browser sign-in, and destructive actions carry annotations so your client can ask before running them. You can revoke the connection from Connected apps in your Bird profile whenever needed.

Do I need an API key to use Bird in ChatGPT or Codex?

No. Installing the Bird plugin or connecting to the hosted MCP server uses browser OAuth sign-in, so you do not need to create or paste static API keys for your chat or editor session. When Codex builds an application that you deploy for your own users, that application authenticates from your backend with its own server-side API key.

What if the Bird tools appear but requests fail?

Installing the plugin or registering the MCP server lists Bird's tools, and completing the browser OAuth sign-in grants permission to run them. Reconnect and approve the consent screen in your browser, then ask the agent to confirm your signed-in account and active workspace before sending messages or subscribing to inbound events in ChatGPT.

Expand what ChatGPT and Codex can run, from live MCP tools and event subscriptions to reusable CLI skills across your other AI assistants.

MCP server

Connect ChatGPT and Codex over OAuth to send email, SMS, and WhatsApp messages, manage domains and numbers, and subscribe to inbound events.

Agent skills

Give Codex prebuilt workflows for Bird CLI operations, domain DNS audits, and delivery verification so it checks final message status before finishing.

Other AI tools

Connect Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and other assistants to the same Bird workspace, senders, and delivery logs.
