Describe the feature to Leap.
Bird delivers the messages.

Point Leap at a Bird guide and describe what your app should send. Leap writes an Encore endpoint with the Bird SDK, and your API key lives in a Leap secret.

From prompt to delivered.

Your agent can set up channels, manage customers, and confirm delivery.
Full read and write access through MCP and CLI.

YouVoice

Can you check which calls are active right now and tell me which are connected and which are still ringing?

Bird MCP4 connected actions
  1. 1Read the workspaceworkspace_get
  2. 2Find calls in progressvoice_legs_list
  3. 3Inspect the connected callvoice_legs_get
  4. 4Inspect the ringing callvoice_legs_get

Add Bird to Leap.
Then get to work.

Leap writes the integration from a prompt. You add the API key.

Prompt for Leap
Add a backend endpoint to send email with Bird. Follow https://bird.com/docs/get-started/send-your-first-email: use the @messagebird/sdk package and read the API key from a secret named BirdApiKey.
  1. Ask Leap

Paste the prompt into Leap’s chat. Leap reads Bird’s quickstart, writes the endpoint with the Bird SDK, and declares the BirdApiKey secret.

  2. Set the secret

Create an API key in Bird under Developers, then API keys. In Leap, open Settings, then Secrets, and paste the key as the BirdApiKey value. The Missing secret value notice in the chat opens the same screen.

  3. Send a test

Call the endpoint Leap created. The quickstart sends from onboarding@messagebird.dev to delivered@messagebird.dev, a sandbox address where each message delivers. Verify your own domain before you send to customers.

Built with an agent.
Ready for your users.

Your published app needs its own server-side connection to Bird.

Keep the key on the server

Leap encrypts the BirdApiKey value and passes the secret to your backend at runtime. Your frontend calls your backend, and your backend calls Bird.

A few good places
to start.

Name the Bird product and the secret. Leap writes the backend code.

Send a welcome email
When a user signs up, send a welcome email with Bird using the @messagebird/sdk package and the BirdApiKey secret. Store the returned message ID with the user.
Text an order update
When an order ships, send the customer an SMS with Bird, including the tracking link. Use the @messagebird/sdk package and the BirdApiKey secret.
Track delivery
Add an endpoint to read a Bird email message by its stored ID and return its status, so the order page shows whether the email was delivered.

The details behind a working connection.

How does Leap learn the Bird API?

From your prompt. Link a Bird guide, such as the email quickstart, and Leap reads the page before writing the endpoint.

Where does the API key live?

In a Leap secret. Leap encrypts the value and exposes the secret to your app at runtime, so the key stays out of your code.

Do I set a region?

No. The Bird SDK reads the region from your API key, so a key starting bk_eu1_ calls the EU host with no extra setup.

Your next idea.
