Rules & regulations
What local regulators expect before you send, as the destination's own policy record states it.
Default validity period on operator's side is 6 hours. Messages will be marked as Expired if there is no final error received by the SMSC within the validity period.
Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO)’s guidelines emphasize the following criteria for URLs included in SMS content:
- URLs must direct users to legitimate and verified destinations.
- URLs must not lead to interactive platforms such as direct download sites or forms requiring user input.
- The purpose of the URL must be transparent, lawful, and clearly communicated in the intent registration process.
- URLs that are generated by URL shorteners, such as Bitly, are not allowed as it is considered leading to a platform not belonging to the owner of the Sender Name. These measures aim to enhance transparency and mitigate risks associated with misleading or unauthorized URL use, which could lead to misuse or fraud.
- URLs must be related to the brand sending the message and SMS content must include the brand name associated with the URL.
What this market refuses
Content should include the brandname.
Strictly no political, religious, racial, unsolicited promotion, adult, part time, gambling, fake loan, fake job or fake crypto content.
The character "กู้" in Thai means "loan" that it's not allowed.
One API
How sending works
You send to every destination through the same endpoint and the same keys. Bird picks a compliant route for the country, applies opt-out handling on every message, and reports delivery from carrier receipts. The country-specific part is which sender you register. The API call does not change.
