Add Bird to Replit Agent

Bird is pre-listed under MCP Servers for Replit Agent at replit.com/integrations. Click Sign in next to it, or Add to Replit here, and approve the consent screen. Agent then has Bird's tools in every project.

Connect Replit Agent to Bird and verify your workspace.

Register Bird's hosted MCP server in Replit and sign in with OAuth so your agent can inspect senders, configure domains, and run test sends on your behalf.

Server URL
https://mcp.bird.com
  1. Add Bird

Select Add to Replit above, or choose Bird under Integrations → MCP Servers in Replit. You can also paste the server URL as a custom MCP server with OAuth.

  2. Authorize the connection

Click Sign in next to Bird in Replit and approve browser authorization. Once connected, Replit Agent can access your workspace tools directly inside your project.

  3. Check the account

Ask Replit Agent to confirm your signed-in account and active workspace before starting your first messaging task. Verifying your identity and workspace up front prevents sends or domain changes in the wrong account.

Take your Replit app from workspace testing to production traffic. Replit Agent uses MCP while you build, and your deployed backend sends live messages with its own server-side credentials. Store your Bird API key in Replit Secrets, verify your sending domains, and wire up webhooks before opening your app to users.

Keep your API key in Replit Secrets

Store your Bird API key in Replit Secrets so credentials stay on the server and out of browser bundles. Your frontend calls your Replit backend route, and your backend calls Bird to send OTP codes, receipts, and alerts.

Send from a verified domain or number

Have Replit Agent check your DNS records for SPF and DKIM or inspect eligible SMS and WhatsApp senders in your workspace so transactional emails and notifications land in the inbox.

Track delivery status with webhooks

Store the message ID returned by Bird and expose a webhook endpoint in your Replit backend to process delivery, bounce, and read events as they happen.

Run real workspace tasks straight from Replit Agent.

Paste a prompt to inspect failed emails, set up SMS order updates, or check live traffic without leaving your editor.

Understand a delivery issue
Check my recent email failures. Group them by reason, inspect the affected sending domain, and tell me what needs fixing before making changes.
Prepare a new channel
Help me set up SMS for order updates. Check my workspace and available senders, explain what is missing, then prepare a test for a number I provide.
See what is happening now
List the Voice calls that are active right now. Separate connected calls from calls that are still ringing, and show their IDs.

Common questions about Bird and Replit

How OAuth permissions, Replit Secrets, and workspace authentication work when you build and deploy.

Does connecting MCP give my agent unrestricted access?

No. Replit Agent operates within the workspace permissions of your signed-in Bird account and the access you approve during OAuth sign-in. You can revoke the integration at any time from your Bird account settings.

Do I need an API key for hosted MCP?

You do not need an API key to use Bird's hosted MCP server in Replit Agent, because it authenticates through browser OAuth. When you deploy your Replit app for users, create a Bird API key and store it in Replit Secrets so your backend can send email, SMS, WhatsApp messages, and OTP codes directly.

What if the tools appear but calls fail?

Check your Bird authentication status under Integrations in Replit. Adding the MCP server URL lists the tools, and completing browser sign-in activates them. Reauthorize the Bird integration, then ask Replit Agent to confirm your signed-in account and active workspace.

Extend your Bird setup across your AI workflow. Add reusable skills that teach Replit Agent how to structure Bird API calls and webhook handlers. You can also connect the same Bird workspace to other editors and coding agents across your stack.
