Connect Factory Droid to your Bird workspace in four steps.

Register the Bird MCP server, sign in to your workspace in the browser, and install the Bird skills so Factory Droid can inspect your channels and write integration code.

Terminal
droid mcp add bird https://mcp.bird.com --type http
Terminal · Skills
npx skills add messagebird/bird-ai
  1. Register the Bird MCP server

Run the registration command in your terminal so Factory Droid can reach Bird over HTTP. If a Bird plugin already registered the server, keep that existing connection.

  2. Authorize your Bird account

Open the MCP server menu inside Factory Droid, select Bird, and complete the browser sign-in to grant access to your workspace.

  3. Install the Bird agent skills

Run the skills installation command in your project root so Factory Droid loads Bird CLI usage patterns and email deliverability auditing instructions.

  4. Verify your active workspace

Ask Factory Droid to confirm your signed-in account and list your active workspace before modifying channels or sending test messages.

Run channel tasks directly from your Factory Droid session.

Use these prompts to audit email deliverability, configure SMS senders, and inspect live Voice calls against your Bird workspace.

Understand a delivery issue
Check my recent email failures. Group them by reason, inspect the affected sending domain, and tell me what needs fixing before making changes.
Prepare a new channel
Help me set up SMS for order updates. Check my workspace and available senders, explain what is missing, then prepare a test for a number I provide.
See what is happening now
List the Voice calls that are active right now. Separate connected calls from calls that are still ringing, and show their IDs.

Workspace access and credentials.

How Factory Droid authenticates with Bird, scopes permissions to your role, and separates interactive sessions from deployed application keys.

Does connecting MCP give Factory Droid unrestricted workspace access?

No. Factory Droid operates within your Bird user permissions and the scopes you approve during browser sign-in. You can revoke access from your Bird account settings whenever needed.

Do I need an API key to connect Factory Droid to Bird?

Interactive Factory Droid sessions authenticate through browser sign-in with Bird's hosted MCP server. When you deploy application code that sends email, SMS, WhatsApp, or Voice traffic in production, that application uses its own scoped Bird API key.

Why do Bird MCP tools appear in Factory Droid when tool calls fail?

Registering the MCP server URL adds the tool definitions before you sign in. Open the MCP server menu in Factory Droid, complete the browser sign-in for Bird, and ask your agent to verify the active workspace before running channel tasks.

Expand your Bird setup across agents and channels. Inspect MCP authentication details, add channel skills to your repository, or connect another coding client to the same Bird workspace.
