Bring an existing mobile number

You need an eligible number, a supported receiving mobile plan and authorization from the account holder. Confirm the requirements for the actual donor and receiving providers.

1. Check eligibility

Verify the country, number type and supported provider path. Explain the expected procedure before the subscriber commits to a move.

2. Collect the required details

Obtain the account information, transfer credentials and consent required for this path. Match the donor’s account records and explain how the subscriber can resolve missing information.

3. Submit and track

Keep the request reference and follow the reported status. Show a confirmed schedule when one is available. Do not tell the subscriber to cancel the donor service before the porting process permits it.

4. Resolve a declined request

Read the reported reason and request the specific correction. Resubmit through the supported process after the authorized subscriber updates the required information.

5. Verify the moved service

Confirm the new line and test incoming and outgoing calls, SMS and data as applicable. Explain any remaining relationship or final bill with the previous provider.

Troubleshooting

A porting completion status and a working customer experience are separate checks. If calls or messages fail after the move, retain the port reference and test results for the receiving service’s support team.
