What to do
Give the language as a BCP-47 tag from WhatsApp's list of supported languages (for example en or pt-BR). A well-formed tag is not always one of them — WhatsApp registers pt-BR and pt-PT but no bare pt, and zh-CN, zh-HK and zh-TW but no bare zh — so when a base tag is refused, send the regional one. Other languages do register their base, en and es among them. For Norwegian, send nb rather than no, which WhatsApp does not register. When the request carries several languages, no two of them may resolve to the same tag.
