Ship Rocket apps that send email, SMS, WhatsApp, and verification codes.

Import the Bird Postman collection into Rocket to wire transactional email, SMS alerts, WhatsApp updates, voice calls, and one-time passcodes directly to your screens while keeping API keys in your backend environment.

Import the Bird collection into Rocket and wire messaging to your screens.

Upload Bird’s Postman collection so Rocket can attach email, SMS, WhatsApp, and verification requests to your screens while keeping API credentials in the task environment.

  1. Upload the Bird collection

In your Rocket task, open the preview toolbar menu and choose APIs. Select Add APIs, choose Upload JSON, and submit the Bird Postman collection so Rocket loads the request templates and variables.

  2. Wire a request to a screen

Pick a screen route and select a Bird request such as sending a welcome email or starting phone verification. Click Integrate API, select the button or form that triggers the send, and let Rocket write the request code.

  3. Save your API key in the task environment

Create an API key in Bird under Developers and API keys. In Rocket, open your task settings, select Environment, and add your Bird API key and matching regional base URL on the Staging and Production tabs.

Take your Rocket app from preview to production. Protect your credentials on the server, send from verified domains and numbers, and update your UI from live delivery events.

Keep API keys in server secrets

Store your Bird API key in Rocket’s server-side task environment without exposing it to client bundles, so browser visitors cannot inspect or reuse your credentials.

Send from verified domains and numbers

Verify your sending domain for transactional email or configure an approved SMS or WhatsApp sender before switching your Rocket task from staging to production.

Track delivery status with webhooks

Store the message ID returned by Bird when a send starts, then receive webhook events to update order pages, signup flows, and support views as messages arrive or bounce.

Start with prompts that wire real messaging flows into your app.

Describe the user action on your screen and name the Bird collection request Rocket should call when it runs.

Send a welcome email
When a user signs up, call Create an email message to send a welcome email. Save the returned message ID on the user.
Text an order update
When an order ships, call Create an SMS message with the customer’s phone number and the tracking link. Show an error on the order page if the call fails.
Verify a phone number
On the sign-up screen, call Create a verification for the phone number the user enters. On the next screen, call Create a verification passcode check with the code they type.

Questions about connecting Rocket and Bird

How collection imports, regional API endpoints, and environment variables work in Rocket tasks.

Why does Rocket use a Postman collection for Bird?

Rocket’s APIs panel imports Postman collections to learn request URLs, headers, and payload fields before writing code. Uploading the Bird collection gives Rocket ready-to-use requests for email, SMS, WhatsApp, voice, and verification that map directly to your task’s environment variables.

Which regional Bird endpoint should my app call?

Match the base URL in your Rocket environment settings to the region shown on your Bird API key. Keys created for the US region connect to Bird’s US platform host, and keys created for the EU region connect to Bird’s EU platform host.

How do I update my Rocket task when Bird adds new API endpoints?

Download the latest Bird Postman collection from this page and upload the JSON file to your Rocket task’s APIs panel. Bird regenerates the collection from its current API specification as new messaging and verification endpoints ship.

Extend your Rocket app with production messaging workflows. Inspect request payloads in the API reference, process delivery webhooks, or connect the same Bird workspace to your other coding tools.

API reference

Inspect request parameters, authentication headers, and response schemas for email, SMS, WhatsApp, voice, and verification endpoints.

Webhooks

Receive real-time delivery receipts, bounce notifications, and inbound message events in your app’s backend routes.
