  1. Navigate to your Bird marketing dashboard.​

  2. Go to the Manage section.​

  3. Under Content, select Message Templates.​

  1. Click on Create New Message Project.​

  2. In the Platform section, choose the communication channel for your message template, such as SMS, WhatsApp, Instagram, or Mobile Push. For this example, select WhatsApp.​

  1. Interaction Type:

    • Choose WhatsApp Approved if you intend to proactively reach out to customers.​

    • Select Reply to Conversation if you're responding to an existing conversation.​

  2. Message Category:

    • Marketing: for promotional content.​

    • Authentication: for verification purposes.​

    • Utility: for transactional messages.​

  1. Message Type: choose the format of your message, such as text, catalogue, or file attachments.​

  2. Project Name: enter a descriptive name relevant to the message's purpose (e.g., "Abandoned Basket Reminder").​

  3. Default Locale: select the primary language for your message from the dropdown list.​

  4. Template Creation Method: opt to build your template From Scratch or Using AI.​

  5. Click Get Started to proceed to the Studio editor.​

  1. In the Studio editor, input and format your message content.​

  2. To personalize the message, add variables like the recipient's first name:​

    1. Click on the variable icon in the bottom right corner of the content box.​

    2. Select Create New Variable.​

    3. In the Settings tab, provide the variable's name (e.g., "FirstName"), description, and default text.​

    4. Click Save.​

    5. Return to the editor, click where you want to insert the variable, click the variable icon, and select the newly created variable.​

  1. To add other content blocks:​

    • Click the back arrow next to Text Body.​

    • Click Add New Block and choose the desired block type from the dropdown list.​

  2. To upload images:​

    • Upload the image file.​

    • Provide an image URL that directs to your website or a specific product page.​

  3. The text footer will automatically include an unsubscribe option, which is a legal requirement for all marketing messages.​

  1. Click on the Preview tab to see how your message will appear to recipients.​

  2. Review the Settings to ensure all configurations are correct.​

  1. Click Save as Draft to save your progress.​

  2. Once you're ready to make the template available for use, click Publish.​
