Register your US brand and campaigns to deliver on local 10-digit numbers.
Send order updates, appointment reminders, and customer support texts from local US phone numbers without getting blocked by carrier filters. Bird validates your business details, sample messages, and opt-in disclosures upfront, files your registration with The Campaign Registry, and tracks carrier approval through the dashboard and API.

Pass US carrier filtering with approved throughput tiers.
US mobile carriers block unregistered application-to-person traffic on local 10-digit long codes. As part of SMS compliance on the Bird SMS API, A2P 10DLC connects your legal business identity and messaging use cases to your local phone numbers. Once carriers approve your brand and campaign, your messages run at your vetted throughput tier instead of being dropped at the network edge.
Go from company details to approved US sending.
Verify your business once, register each messaging use case, and link your local numbers.
- 01
Verify your legal brand once.
Enter your legal company name, EIN or Canadian business number, registered address, and website in the dashboard. Bird checks required fields upfront before submitting to The Campaign Registry, and can request Auth+ vetting automatically for public companies.
- 02
Submit your campaign and opt-in flow.
Choose your use case, such as account notifications, two-factor authentication, customer care, or marketing. Provide sample messages, opt-in disclosures, and STOP and HELP replies so carriers can approve your throughput tier on the first review.
- 03
Link local numbers to the campaign.
Attach up to 49 US 10-digit long codes to your campaign from the dashboard at no extra linking charge. Once the campaign is approved and carriers confirm the link, those numbers send under your registered campaign.
- 04
Confirm approval and enable the US destination.
Track brand, campaign, and number status in the dashboard or through the API. If the registry requests a correction, Bird surfaces the exact fields to fix so you can resubmit, confirm approval, and enable the United States destination before launching traffic.
Gate outbound traffic on live campaign approval.
Query your 10DLC campaign status from the API before routing production traffic through a new US number. Your onboarding checks or deployment scripts can verify that carrier vetting has cleared, inspect the linked brand, and hold outbound sends until the campaign is approved.
// The 10DLC surface is not on the SDK yet, so read it over HTTP with a key
// carrying the sms_management:read scope.
const res = await fetch(
`https://eu1.platform.bird.com/v1/sms/10dlc/campaigns/${campaignId}`,
{ headers: { Authorization: `Bearer ${process.env.BIRD_API_KEY!}` } },
);
const campaign = await res.json();
if (campaign.status === "approved") {
// Campaign approved; link the number and verify destination eligibility before sending.
}
console.log(campaign.brand_id); // → "brd_01krdgeqcxet5s7t44vh8rt9mg"
Keep local area codes and two-way replies at scale.
Customers recognize and reply to local 10-digit long codes when you send delivery notifications, appointment reminders, or support updates. Pairing those numbers with an approved 10DLC campaign gives you a trusted local caller ID and two-way SMS conversations with carrier-approved daily volume.
Transparent registry and vetting fees before you submit.
Bird shows the exact brand registration, campaign vetting, and recurring campaign subscription fees in the dashboard before you confirm payment, and publishes the full schedule in the SMS fee catalogue. Because carriers charge for each vetting attempt, pre-submission checks in the dashboard help you catch formatting mistakes before they cost a resubmission fee.
