Family, colleagues and account-recovery services may depend on the subscriber’s existing number. A transfer needs a plan for service continuity as well as the new subscription.

## What information does a port need?

The required information depends on the market, the current provider and the provider receiving the number. It can include account-holder details, an account number, transfer credentials and authorization. The subscriber supplies details that match the current provider’s records.

Check eligibility before promising the move. Installing a different eSIM cannot make an unsupported number type or provider path eligible.

## What happens while the request is pending?

The receiving provider should track the request and present confirmed scheduling information when available. For a declined request, the receiving provider should show the reported reason. It should explain the specific correction the subscriber can make.

Keep the current service active until the receiving provider confirms when it can end. Canceling prematurely can interfere with the transfer. ## What should be checked after completion?

Verify incoming and outgoing calls, SMS and data according to the new plan. Confirm the number attached to the subscriber’s account. Help the subscriber if an included service does not work.

Moving the number, ending the previous plan and settling its final bill are distinct outcomes. The app should show the customer which steps are complete and which still need attention.
