# The channel changes. Your backend hears.

React to occupancy, membership, connection counts and cache misses. Treat Realtime webhooks as change notifications and reconcile current state when needed.

React to channel activity from your backend.

### Configure groups in the dashboard.

Realtime subscriptions belong to one app and are currently dashboard-only. A public webhook-create request containing realtime.* types is rejected. The endpoint’s app cannot be changed after creation.

### Verify the original signed bytes.

Use the endpoint secret to verify the raw request body. Accept durably with a prompt 2xx and process asynchronously. Preserve unfamiliar event types without breaking the endpoint.

### Reconcile unordered observations.

A connection-count group needs the corresponding app setting. Occupancy reports only the first arrival and last departure. Delayed or missing notifications require a current-state read, not assumptions about delivery order.
