# From your audience to their phone.

Build a coordinated audience send with content, sender, schedule and progress in one place. Review who can receive the message before launch, then follow delivery at both campaign and recipient level. Use the dashboard for campaign work and the API for an integrated workflow.

## Set up with your agent

Bird connects customer communications, data and automation. Help me build with Bird using my coding agent.
1. Read https://bird.com/docs/ai/set-up-your-agent.md and follow its setup workflow for this client. Use an existing connected Bird MCP server or signed-in CLI when available.
2. Read the product guide for the task I want to complete and inspect my existing integration. Identify the workspace, available operations and required setup.
3. Help me complete a first example for the product and destination I choose. Follow the operation through to its actual result, explain any uncertainty, and help me choose the next step.

First task: Prepare a draft SMS broadcast using the available campaign operations. Review the audience, message, sender and schedule with me. Do not replace an audience broadcast with a loop of individual sends, and ask before launching.

Use this Bird page as the starting context: https://bird.com/products/sms/marketing/campaigns
Read its Markdown alternative and linked guides. Keep the first example relevant to this page and the customer outcome I choose. Preserve the supplied campaign context when following Bird signup or sales links.

After the send’s eligibility checks

Illustrative counts, not a customer result. Audience membership and eligibility answer different questions.

## The audience is more than a contact count.

A list may include missing numbers, duplicate destinations or people who cannot receive this message. Understand the eligible audience before you launch.

## Start with shared profiles

Use the customer data and audience your campaign needs. Keep phone numbers and useful personalization properties on the contact.

## Review eligibility

Separate audience membership from a usable phone number and permission to send. Resolve suppressions and missing data before launch.

## Snapshot the send

For a scheduled broadcast, membership is resolved when the send starts. Follow the recipients selected for that send and their individual outcomes.

## Dashboard or API: the same campaign lifecycle.

Draft, review, schedule, send and inspect a broadcast. Choose the working surface that fits your team and keep the campaign record as the place to follow progress.

## Prepare

Set the audience, text and originator. Preview representative contacts so longer names, missing fields and different languages are visible.

## Launch

Send now or schedule a send time. Carrier and sender throughput govern how quickly a large audience receives the message.

## Inspect and adjust

Follow counts and the event timeline. Cancel work that has not been submitted; a text already handed to the carrier cannot be recalled.

## A batch is not an audience campaign.

The SMS batch operation groups up to 100 independent messages. A broadcast owns an audience send, with shared content, personalization, scheduling and progress.

## Application notifications

Use the single-send or batch API when each message comes from a separate application event.

## Audience announcements

Use a broadcast for a coordinated announcement, offer or other message to a selected audience.

## Lifecycle journeys

Use automation when the next message depends on behavior, elapsed time or another channel. Link the journey to your customer data.

## Make the launch review a shared view.

A campaign is easier to approve when the audience, text, sender and timing are visible together. Keep the reason for sending close to the decisions that make it ready.

[Review consent and sending controls](/products/sms/marketing/compliance)

## Who should receive this message?

Name the audience and the selection criteria. Preview missing phone numbers and duplicate destinations, and check the consent and suppression rules that affect eligibility.

## What will each person receive?

Render the message with representative contact properties. Check fallbacks, links, opt-out wording and segment counts before approving the content.

## Is the sender ready for this market?

Confirm the sender, destination and required registration. Choose the schedule with recipient time zones and your sending policy in mind.

## What happened after the send?

Read campaign progress alongside recipient outcomes. Allow receipts to settle and investigate non-delivery before deciding whether another message is appropriate.

## Build the campaign around the customer

- [SMS content](/products/sms/marketing/templates): Preview the message people will receive.
- [Workflow automation](/automate/workflows): Respond to events across a longer customer journey.

## Questions about SMS campaigns

### What is the difference between a batch and a broadcast?

A batch contains up to 100 independent SMS messages. A broadcast targets an audience with shared content and manages preparation, scheduling, progress and recipient outcomes.

### When is a scheduled audience resolved?

Membership is resolved when the scheduled send starts. A person added or removed before then can change that send’s audience. Inspect the resulting recipient snapshot when investigating the campaign.

### Can I cancel a campaign after sending starts?

Cancellation stops work that has not yet been submitted. Messages already handed to a carrier cannot be recalled, so inspect the recipient outcomes after cancellation settles.

### How do I measure campaign performance?

Start with delivery counts and failures. Use separately configured reply, click and conversion signals to measure the action the campaign was intended to produce. Standard SMS does not produce an open event.

## A clear plan for your next broadcast.

Start with the audience and a reviewed draft. Connect your team, application or agent to the same campaign workflow.
