BIRD eSIM

Every step has its own result.

DOCUMENTED OPERATING BEHAVIOR

## Installed is a step. Connected is the outcome.

The installation guide separates a fulfilled order, private setup and a device test in a covered destination. Keep the customer’s observed result separate from the provider’s status, and check reinstall eligibility before removing a profile.

[Read the installation guide ↗](/docs/guides/esim/installation)

Source checked 18 September 2026. Documented procedure with an illustrative device journey. Check the selected offer’s coverage and device requirements before installation.

Check the exact device and unlocked status, then follow one example order. Nothing is purchased or installed.

Check device, coverage and access before the fictional purchase. No current offer, price or availability is implied.

Selected a device test. Purchase fulfillment and installation are still separate prerequisites.

Choose a supported offer for the intended market and service. Prepare market, subscriber, renewal, cancellation and support requirements with a specialist.

Coverage unknown for this fictional itinerary. Confirm the dated destination list, networks and published offer before purchase.

Carrier locked: stop before purchase. Ask the current carrier about unlocking, then recheck the exact device variant.

Device readiness unknown: record model, region variant, OS and carrier lock; this browser cannot inspect the phone.

Keep the original order reference. Reconcile it before considering another purchase; a repeated click creates no second example order.

Accepted, fulfillment pending. No installed profile or connection is established. Reconcile the original order.

Waiting for wallet funding. The funding requirement is the total wallet balance, not the shortfall; no package is fulfilled. Resolve funding and reconcile the same order.

Order failed. No package fulfilled; inspect the failure and any returned charge before a new approved attempt. Reconciliation does not turn a failure into success.

Purchase response lost. Outcome unknown. Keep the original reference and retry identity; reconcile before another purchase.

There is no original order to reconcile. Check readiness and preview one purchase first.

Original order remains failed. Inspect the reason and refund status with support. Reset only to start a separate fictional attempt.

Original order already completed. No second purchase was created; installation and first use remain separate.

Example original order reconciled as completed; the charging case assumes funding was resolved. One package fulfilled. Private installation and device first use still need verification.

Wait for fulfilled service and private installation eligibility. Pending, unknown or failed purchase is not setup-ready.

Private setup unavailable. Carrier credentials could not be read or the profile is not installable. Retain the original order and ask support; never expose activation material.

Installation failed on the example device. Record model, method, step and exact error. Check reinstall eligibility before deleting the profile.

Example profile installed through private setup. No real credential is displayed. Check the offer’s activation trigger and test the selected data line in coverage.

A fulfilled order alone cannot connect the phone. Complete the eligible private installation first.

Profile installed, but no mobile data observed. Check covered destination, selected data line and offer roaming settings. Do not buy another package to diagnose this.

Fictional device test: mobile data observed. Provider activation remains unknown; a delayed usage observation is separate from this device result. No live service was tested.

No recorded setup issue. Keep order, profile and device observations separate; use the installation guide for an actual test.

Example data-line and roaming settings corrected in coverage. Repeat the device test; recovery is not yet a connection.

Example support review confirms private setup / reinstall eligibility. Retry private setup on the intended device; no new order was created and no profile was deleted.

## eSIM & connectivity, answered.

A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS

### Is this only for travel eSIMs?

Start with an eligible data offering for travel or employee use. Choose a supported offer for the intended market and service. Review the selected offer’s terms before purchase.

### Will every phone work?

No. Confirm exact model, market variant, OS and carrier-unlocked status with manufacturer and provider guidance. This page cannot detect the device or certify compatibility.

### How do I integrate eSIM into my application?

Start with workspace setup and the eSIM integration guide. Choose an eligible offer and keep installation credentials inside your authorized customer experience.

### Is a completed order already a connected phone?

No. Separate purchase fulfillment, private installation, offer activation rules and an observed device service test. Reconcile the original order before another purchase if the response is lost.

### Which top-up and lifecycle operations should we plan?

The eSIM dashboard supports data-package purchase and compatible top-ups. Match a top-up to the existing service, not geography alone; check its price, limits and validity. Recover the original nonterminal order before retrying a purchase. Funding cancellation and supplier-dependent suspend, resume or release have their own eligibility and outcome checks; an accepted action is not proof the network changed. Confirm supported operations and region with Bird. See the pricing and plan details.

### Does every plan include calls, SMS, and top-ups?

No. Features follow the selected offer. Check the destination, device, services, renewal terms, and compatible top-ups before purchase. See the pricing and plan details.

### Where should installation details be delivered?

Keep private installation details in the authenticated account. A communication can link the customer to that protected setup flow.

### How do I get started or speak to sales?

Start in your workspace and follow the setup steps for your channel. Talk to sales for help planning a larger rollout.
