# How long registrations take

We review each SMS sender registration first, and in many countries a carrier or registry reviews it after us. How long that takes depends on the country. The times below are estimates: we can't speed up a carrier's review or promise a date.

## How long does sender ID registration take?

It depends on the country and the type of sender. To check, open [**SMS > Destinations**](https://bird.com/dashboard/w/sms/destinations) and find your country. The **Turnaround time** column shows the usual range in business days. A dash means the country doesn't publish an estimate.

Developers can read the same range from the sender requirements, as `timeline_min_days` and `timeline_max_days`. [SMS senders](/docs/guides/sms/senders#check-what-a-country-requires) describes those fields.

## What does my registration's status mean?

You can see the status of each country's registration on the sender's row under [**SMS > Senders**](https://bird.com/dashboard/w/sms/senders).

| Status | What it means |
| ----------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Your input needed | We need more information. Select **Complete** and finish the form. |
| Under review | We have everything we need and are reviewing it. |
| Bird approved | Your registration passed our review and goes to the carrier next. |
| Carrier pending | The carrier or registry is reviewing it. They decide how long this takes. |
| Approved | You can send to that country. |
| Rejected | The registration was refused. Read the reason, correct it, and select **Resubmit**. |

[Registration statuses](/docs/guides/sms/senders#registration-statuses) covers the other statuses.

## How long does toll-free verification take?

A US toll-free number needs to be verified before it can send SMS. The carrier reviews each verification, which usually takes several days, and we don't control how long it takes. While the carrier reviews it, the sender's row shows **Carrier pending**.

If the carrier needs changes, the verification itself shows `info_requested`. Open it from the sender's page, make the changes, and submit it again.

## How long does 10DLC registration take?

A US 10-digit long code needs a registered brand and a registered campaign. The registry reviews the brand first, then the carriers review the campaign, each on their own schedule. If you choose brand vetting, that adds another review. [10DLC registration](/docs/guides/sms/10dlc) walks through the steps.
