# `bird webhooks client-certificate create-signing-request`

## Usage

```bash
bird webhooks client-certificate create-signing-request [flags]
```

## Description

Returns `signing_request.csr`, a PEM CSR that your certificate authority signs with the `clientAuth` extended key usage. A new request replaces a waiting one. The certificate in use stays in use until you upload the new one.

This is destructive and cannot be undone; pass --yes to confirm.

## Procedure

Step 2 of 6 of "Present a client certificate on webhook deliveries". Previous: bird webhooks client-certificate get. Next: bird webhooks client-certificate upload.

bird webhooks client-certificate create-signing-request --csr-out bird-webhooks.csr --yes
```

## Options

#### Safety

| Name                | Description                                                  |
| ------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------ |
| `--idempotency-key` | Deduplication key; a retry with the same key won't act twice |
| `--yes`             | Confirm the action (required; the CLI never prompts)         |

#### Options

| Name                | Description                                                                  |
| ------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `--csr-out`         | Also write the PEM CSR to this file, for your certificate authority to sign. |
| `--dry-run`         | Print the resolved request without sending it, then exit                     |
| `--response-schema` | Print the fields this command returns, then exit                             |
