# `bird voice verified-numbers update`

## Usage

```bash
bird voice verified-numbers update <verified-number-id> [flags]
```

## Description

Update a verified number

Set or clear the label on a verified number; send `name` as null to clear it. The number and its verification state are unchanged, and the label never appears on a call.

Build the request from flags, a JSON VoiceVerifiedNumberUpdate body via --body-file ("-" reads
stdin), or both — a flag overrides the matching body field. Run --example to
print a ready-to-edit body, or --dry-run to print the resolved request without
sending it.

## Examples

```bash
# print the body shape (no credentials needed)
bird voice verified-numbers update --example
# the body it prints:
```

```json
{
  "name": "Support line"
}
```

#### Request

| Name                | Description                                                  |
| ------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------ |
| `--body-file` | Read the JSON request body from this file; "-" reads stdin |
| `--example`         | Print a complete example request body, then exit             |
| `--dry-run` | Print the resolved request without sending it, then exit |
| `--idempotency-key` | Deduplication key; a retry with the same key won't act twice |

#### Options

| Name                | Description                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      |
| ------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `--name` | Your new label for this verified number. Send null to clear it and go back to identifying the verified number by its number alone. It is yours to choose and appears nowhere on a call, so renaming never affects what the person you are calling sees, and it leaves the number and its verification untouched. |
| `--response-schema` | Print the fields this command returns, then exit |
