# `bird assets uploads handoff`

## Usage

```bash
bird assets uploads handoff <upload-id> [flags]
```

## Description

Use assets.uploads.handoff only when the code environment cannot PUT to the upload hostname and the customer cannot or does not want to change its network settings. It returns a Bird page where an authorized person selects the original file and publishes it. A generated file must first be downloaded. The person's browser still needs access to the storage hostname. Opening the page does not finish the upload; use assets.uploads.get with the original connection to read the saved result.

## Procedure

Step 1 of 2 of "Finish a blocked upload in the browser". Next: bird assets uploads get.

## Examples

```bash
bird assets uploads handoff <id>
```
