# Delete a folder and move its contents up

`DELETE /v1/asset-folders/{folder_id}`

Deletes a folder. Its subfolders and its assets move up one level, to the folder
it sat in, so nothing is removed from the library as a side effect and no URL
changes.

If a subfolder's name is already taken where it would land, the delete is refused
and the response names the folders to resolve first. Deleting is idempotent.
