# E04047 — EmailTemplateDefaultLanguageRequired

The default language has to be one of the languages the template has.

- **HTTP status**: `422`
- **Type**: `validation_error`
- **Name**: `EmailTemplateDefaultLanguageRequired`

## What to do

Set the default language to a language the template already has, or add content for the language you want to make the default. The same rule applies when you remove a language. The current default cannot be removed on its own, so point the default at a different language first, then remove the old one.
