# Webhook connectors

A connector delivers each event as the request its platform expects, instead of posting the raw event to a URL you host. Set one up from the [dashboard](https://bird.com/dashboard/w/webhooks/new), with `bird webhooks create --connector <id>`, or with `destination.connector` on [Create a webhook](/docs/api/reference/create-webhook). Bird builds the endpoint's URL from the connector and its fields, so the endpoint takes no `url` of its own.

Nonsecret fields go in `config` and secret fields in `credentials`. Secret values are write-only: no response includes them. A create missing a field the connector needs, or giving one it does not take, is refused with the connector's fields named. For a walkthrough, see [Route messages to your AI agent](/docs/ai/route-messages-to-an-agent).

## Claude Managed Agents

Send each message you receive to your Claude managed agent. Its ID is `claude_managed_agents`.

It accepts `whatsapp.received`, `sms.received`, `email_mailbox.message_received`, `amb.received`.

| Field | Goes in | Required | Description |
| ---------------- | ------------- | -------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `agent_id` | `config` | Yes | Returned when you create the agent. Sessions use its latest version. |
| `environment_id` | `config` | Yes | Returned when you create the environment. |
| `vault_id` | `config` | No | A credential vault the agent uses, such as the one holding its Bird MCP credential, so it can reply through Bird. |
| `api_key` | `credentials` | Yes | From the Claude workspace your agent runs in. |

Before you connect it, on the platform:

1. **First, set up your agent in Claude.** In the Claude Console, create the agent, its environment and an API key in the same workspace, then enter their IDs and the key in Bird. See [platform.claude.com](https://platform.claude.com/docs/en/managed-agents/quickstart#create-your-first-session).
2. **Create an API key.** In the Claude workspace your agent runs in. See [platform.claude.com](https://platform.claude.com/settings/keys).
3. **Copy the agent and environment IDs.** Each create returns its ID. See [platform.claude.com](https://platform.claude.com/docs/en/managed-agents/quickstart#create-your-first-session).
4. **Optionally, add a credential vault.** To let the agent reply through Bird, store its Bird MCP credential in a Claude credential vault and give the vault ID here. Each session gets that vault. See [platform.claude.com](https://platform.claude.com/docs/en/managed-agents/vaults).

## Grok Bot

Send each message you receive to a Grok Bot routine. Its ID is `grok_bot`.

It accepts `whatsapp.received`, `sms.received`, `email_mailbox.message_received`, `amb.received`.

| Field | Goes in | Required | Description |
| ------------- | ------------- | -------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `webhook_url` | `config` | Yes | The routine's webhook URL. |
| `sender_key` | `credentials` | Yes | The routine's sender key. Bird sends it only as the Bearer token. |

Before you connect it, on the platform:

1. **First, ask Grok Bot to create a routine.** Ask Grok Bot to create a routine with a webhook trigger, then enter the webhook URL and sender key it gives you in Bird. See [cursor.com](https://cursor.com/help/grok-bot/routines#where-do-the-webhook-url-and-key-live-and-what-does-a-200-mean).
