## What are Campaigns?

Campaigns let you send marketing messages to your customers across the most popular messaging channels, all from one place.

## Send Campaigns by channel

Reach customers on any supported channel:

- WhatsApp
- Email
- SMS
- Push notifications

## Test and manage campaigns

Organize your campaigns with tags, run A/B tests, and schedule them to send later.

## Getting started with campaigns

To send a campaign, make sure you've completed the following setup steps:

**1\. Add contacts to Bird**

You need contacts in Bird to send campaigns. The most common way to add contacts is by installing an integration like:

- Shopify
- WooCommerce
- HubSpot

These integrations sync contact data automatically into Bird.

**Other options:
**You can also import contacts manually by uploading a CSV file. Either method works—as long as your contacts are in Bird.

**2\. Install a messaging channel**

Decide which channel you want to send your campaign on. This depends on the contact data you have.
For example:

- If you have many email addresses, start with Email.
- If you have phone numbers, try SMS or WhatsApp.

Install one or more of the following channels:

- WhatsApp
- Email
- SMS

**3\. Create a segment or list**

Once your contacts are in Bird and your channels are set up, create an audience to target:

- **Segments**: Ideal if your contacts came from an integration. You can filter by behavior or attributes.
- **Lists**: Automatically created if you imported a CSV.

**Tip:
**You can create advanced segments based on behavior—for example, customers who haven’t purchased in 90 days—but for your first campaign, keep it simple.

**4\. Design your message**

Now it's time to create the content of your campaign.

Go to **Create content** in your dashboard to:

- Build emails using the visual email editor
- Create SMS or WhatsApp templates

Once your content is ready, you can tie it all together into a single campaign.
